South Florida Motorcycle Track Day Checklist: What to Bring, Prep & Expect
Getting ready for your first motorcycle track day in South Florida? Whether you’re heading to Homestead-Miami Speedway, PBIR, or another local circuit, proper preparation is key to having a safe, fun, and fast experience.
At Top Pro Motorsports, we’ve supported hundreds of riders at the track. Here's the ultimate track day checklist so you’re confident and fully prepped when you roll into the paddock.
✅ Pre-Track Bike Prep
Before you go, make sure your motorcycle is in top shape:
-
Fresh oil change (within 500 miles)
-
Brake pads have at least 75% life
-
Tires should be performance-grade and in good condition (we recommend Dunlop Q5S or Bridgestone R11)
-
Coolant swapped to water/water wetter (most tracks prohibit antifreeze)
-
Remove or tape mirrors, lights, turn signals
-
Safety wire drain plugs, oil fill cap, and filter (required for some advanced classes)
Top Pro Motorsports offers track-prep services so you don’t miss anything!
🧳 Gear Checklist
You’ll need full track-approved gear:
-
DOT or SNELL-rated full-face helmet (within 5 years)
-
Leather suit (one or two-piece with full zip)
-
Motorcycle-specific gloves and boots
-
Back protector (mandatory at most Florida tracks)

Undersuit (helps with comfort & temperature regulation)
